Halifax Country Musician Releases New EP Recorded in Nashville, TN
HALIFAX - Andrew Frelick is a Halifax based musician releasing his new EP called ‘When I Was Little’.
Produced in Nashville, TN with producer Chip Hardy, ‘When I Was Little’ follows the acclaimed release of Frelick’s last album, ‘Time Stands Still’.
Frelick, with multiple awards and nominations in Canada and the US, uses his rich vocals, compelling lyrics and catchy hooks to charm radio listeners across North America.
“Rapidly building momentum following artist showcase performances during the 2015 CMA Fest & CCMA weeks, Andrew is making his mark in country music, and is definitely one to watch.”, says Canada Country Aircheck magazine’s Who to Watch in 2017.
‘Till I Found Love is the first cut off Frelick’s ‘When I was Little’ EP. The hook is catchy and the lyricism fits right in the middle of the New Country genre, ‘Till I Found Love is a radio-ready tune that is polished and tight. A co-write with country artist, Faith Numada, out of Vancouver – the pair traveled to Nashville to record. Together with Numada, the harmonies are spot on. With a banjo opening and acoustic and electric guitar solos at the heart, ‘Till I Found Love is has all the workings of what is a solid country tune.
When I Was little, the title track to the EP, is lyrically focused with a storytelling style that creates images reminiscent of simpler times. The warmth and gentleness of Frelick’s unique vocals draws the listener in. When I Was Little has excellent balance, letting the story take the lead. It’s a pro recording suitable for a consistent place in the rotation of a hot country mainstream radio station.
Throwback is a rocking and energetic song that is ready for Friday night at the country bar. Lyrically relatable, with a singable hook and a catchy tune, Throwback is a quick favourite. Perfected by live show after live show, this is a cut that is sure to bring up even the most reluctant to the dance floor.
“This country music singer-songwriter is making his mark from his home province all the way to Nashville, Tennessee.” Says Nanci Dagg of CanadianBeats.ca, “He has a dynamic personality and is a very determined artist: a winning combination to make it in this industry. His rich, unique sounding vocals along with his natural ability to play a guitar, his easy going nature and his passion for performing on a live stage makes Frelick a fan favourite.”
Unlove You is the only track on this EP with a pre-release. Released to Canadian Country Radio via Lauren Tutty Radio Promotions in October of 2015, Unlove You has seen high acclaim and much success. With consistent play on both online and traditional radio stations coast to coast in the US and Canada – Unlove You won Modern Country Male Artist, Song of the Year at the 2016 Josie Awards in Nashville.
